A 70 years old man with gray hair and tanned skin, who has manages the local community center since this April, usually invites me to the office for a cup of coffee after I work for my private students. Looking at his face, I could tell he is not the man who spent prosperous bubble economical ages but also he is the man who had lots of hardships in his life. His deep wrinkles represent who he is.

Mr. Omori, who lives in Seko area in Moriyama ward, originally came from Tsu in Mie around forty years ago, which he was just 15 years old.

“It was hard for me, but I was still young enough to enjoy my life even though I had to work at the textile mill in Ichinomiya from early morning.” Mr. Omori looked back on his life.

Also he said,

“I worked so hard for my family. As time passed, we had to adopt such speedy economical diversity, I started a new career as an owner of the print. Everything was for my family. I love my family.”

When he talked about his family, he seems happy and even he is proud of his family. Mr. Omori, however, who is modest and kind to everybody in the community center, now takes care of his grandchild, whose mother got divorced and moved to his neighborhood.

“I’m not sure until when I have to work for my family but definitely I will have worked at least by the next business year.”

Mr. Omori, currently 70 years old, is unsure when to retire. His wry smile, however, it may reflect what I will be.
