New Friends

Now I have new friends in my workplace. Their names are, Hana, Suzu and Yuna. However, they are too much younger than me - 5 years old. Just look back on 2 weeks ago....  at the community center in which I teach English to my students. Hana, who learnt calligraphy upstairs,  talked to me from the behind, "Are you a teacher?" I said, "Yes, I am." "I want to learn English....." "OK, you can come to me before my lesson starts." And then, she brought her friends to my room.  That is the beginning between Hana and me. However, Hana is a just 5 year old girl whose mother doesn't allow her to learn English at the moment.  Yes, I understand, because English is not our mother tongue.  These kind of girls should learn mother tongue before starting the second language. I agree, but it is a bit sad. But I told Hana and other girls to come to me every Monday.  Just playing with them would be nice.  Not force them to learn languages.  But ...

Yoshida Brothers

I went to the shamisen concert today. Shamisen is a Japanese traditional instrument. Talking of Japanese traditional instruments, the word, OLD hit my mind. But actually, shemisen is cool enough. Yoshida brothers are still young, and then, their performances are so energetic. It is amazing! They have had concerts in overseas, already debuted in the USA. That's great! I didn't know that... And then, it sometimes happens to me that I got to know how wonderful Japanese traditional arts are through overseas.  Maybe... when I have lived such a long time here in Japan, traditional things are not special or unusual. But in overseas, probably such Japanese culture is very unique. I appreciate such great culture to be created here.

Underground

Today, I read "Underground" (Harumi Murakami). It was quite serious, written about an incident happened to undergrounds (subways) in Tokyo in 1995.  Many people became victims and were suffered from chemical. In the book, the author interviewed 60 victims.  When the incident happened, I was still young and just like medias did, I regarded murderers as just evils. But as I got older, I changed my mind little by little. I appreciate Mr. Murakami because it must not to be swept this incident under the carpet as long as this book exists.

My Favourite Book

Image
My favourite book is "an Old Man and the Sea".  I don't know why, but it is my favourite book.  The old man represents a human's life.  One day, you will be an old man or woman, and will not be able to live without other's help.  At that time, you will realise that you got old.  In the story, the old man tried to catch a big fish, he tried and tried and never gave up. Even though he got hurt on his hands, he never threw a towel.  After reading this book, I was wondering if he was really happy or not with his life and started thinking of my life, future.  Anyway... talking of the sea, believe or not though, I have 3 scuba diving license. (I may rescue you when you get drown, not sure now.... I need to practice!)  The song is about the sea, titled "a Boy and the sea"  (Not an Old man...)  Just listen to this song with closing your eyes to get images of the sea in your mind.

。。Just One Thing

There are lots of meanings in this song. First, these singers are super great. And then, Kiyoshiro is very nice, but he died of cancer. That's sad but thanks to Youtube.com, you can see him anytime. My favourite part is below. This reminds me of a friend in overseas. I don't know why I have feelings like this song, which you want your friend to keep reminding you, or not to forget you. And you say, "No matter how we live apart, please remember me." "No matter how you feel sad, you can call me....

This is exactly real art!

Just listen to this great sounds... It is an exactly human's real heart. And then, I can call it real art. See, hear and feel such great nature of beauty. His sound is created from natural and pure heart. It makes me to forget all of dirty things from listening to his music. This is exactly real heart, isn't it! Art should be the thing which gives you happiness. But if it let you down, it could be fake or ego of the creator(s).   However, he is great and has power to make every people happy. Just Great!
