Summer Sound♪　夏の音♪

This is my favourite music, "Just the Tow of Us" by Ralph MacDonald.
Especially I really need his sound in summer, which heals me from such humidity.
Of course I love Glover Washington Jr.'s version too.
私の好きな夏のサウンドの一つ。パーカッション奏者、ラルフ・マクドナルドの『Just the Two of Us』。
もちろん、グローバー・ワシントンジュニアもいいけどね。

By the way, last night, there was a big dinner with my family. But the thing happened after taking a bit Umeshu (liqueur), which I got panicked.  I felt my heart beating so fast and couldn't stand up. I've got high pulse around 100/minute.
Actually I have had a problem with my thyroid for a long time. But it is OK when I don't do any hard excesses.  However, I sometimes forget what I have this sick.  And then,   then, I had 2 glasses of it.  I love it but I really feel I have to give up it.   .... a bit sad....
Anyway, my sister helped me a lot. And I could survive.
あ、そうそう。。。昨日、死にそうだった！梅酒を飲んで、「明日は早いから」と言って、家族の会食を
早々に自分だけ引き揚げたんだけど、途中で気分が悪くなり、しかも、脈がすごおく早くなって、立っていられなくなった。姉に助けてもらって、みんなに心配かけて…。ですが、ちょっと落ち込みました。ちょっと身体の調子が良くなると、
図に乗る悪い癖が出て、ついつい梅酒を飲んじゃった。

Today, I will take a rest earlier but before then, I would like to listen to my favourite summer sound to have a good sleep. Also I would like to share this wonderful sound with YOU!
今日は、早く寝る。でも、寝る前にどうしてもこの曲が聴きたくなった。なので、聴きましょう。お気にいりの夏の音。

Helping Out for Nick Lowe's Interview

In the beginning of May, which was middle of the Golden Week Holidays in Japan, my friend asked me to help out English translation for an interview with Nick Lowe. To be honest, I didn't know about him. However, when I researched him, his music, I could hear familiar sound, which kind of reminded me of life in somewhere overseas, maybe London.  According to Wikipedia, he is a founder of Pub Rock, which ended up creating Punk Rock. I got too excited, which caused my mind to go blank! However, Nick was so sweet reading a manuspript of the interview which I translated into English and answered the questions to Mike who was an interviewer. The interviewer, Mike Koshitani whose English was fantastic! He described himself too modest, I mean, he learnt English through rough conversation with native English speakers. Japan,   It's very unique but incomprehensible. For example, Manga, which is Japanese culture. But its characters has bigger eyes than typical Japanese. Actually I am not a fan of manga any more.   Maybe it because I was just too faithful for school teachers who seemed to have bad ideas about manga. What they said that manga should disturb students learning, badly influence to their growth or it could be childish.  I ended up developing the idea about manga like this,   "Only teenagers read manga." Spontaneously I put a bit negative image to manga in my mind.  Today, I visited World Cosplay Summit was held in Nagoya, Japan. 久しぶりの読書会♪

今日は久しぶりの読書会でした。読書会メンバーは私よりもずっと若い世代の方たちだけど、 本もよく読んでるし、話もよく聞いてくれるし、人のことを悪く言ったりとか、そういうことが全くなくて、とっても気持ちよく付き合える仲間。 今日読んだ本は、『質屋の女房』（安岡章太郎）。いろんな男女の人間関係が描かれた短編集。時代は戦前から戦後。すべてが同じ人が書いたとは思えないくらい様々な視点から書かれている作品。その中の本題と同じタイトルの『質屋の女房』は、ある青年が質屋の女房に抱いた淡い恋心を描いた話。最終的に青年に召集状が届く。 この前、オンライン英会話教室で、小野田さんの記事を読んだばかりだったから、日本兵のことを考えていた。当時の人たちはすごいな。この『質屋の女房』の青年も複雑な気持ちだったに違いない。でも、召集状されることにより、踏ん切りがついたのかもしれない。 今日の読書会では、読書以外の話もした。久しぶりに会うメンバーだったし、自分もその間、いろいろあったからつい色々話してしまった。 「若い人」についての話があった。私も職業柄、若い人たちと関わっている。若い人たちは、まだ経験不足だけど、その分、想像力が私たちより長けている。 「若いとき」は、その時しかないから、精一杯生きるのがいいと思う。そこに誰かがいじめたりとか、あってはならない。だって、「若い時」はその時しかないから。自分もいじめられた経験があるけれど、「時間を返してほしい」と思ったことがあるし、時々ふとそう感じてしまうことがある。『質屋の女房』の青年も、戦争に行ってそのあとどうなったのだろう？何だか気になってしまった。 *全然、内容には関係ないけれど、帰りの車で、たまたまWhitney Hustonの曲を聞いた。これをよく聞いていたのは、自分が十代のころだと思う♪
