Visiting Nishio (Green Tea Paradise)
Finally I finished an article about Nishio matcha and a tea house. You can read it in the Konoe's house in Nishio History Park. You can learn about the house and Nishio matcha.
Handing it in the Konoe's house, I popped into the tea restaurant, "Aiya", which has interesting menu, such as noodles called "soba" and some sweets made from matcha. Not only that, upstairs, you can try grinding matcha leaves into fine powdered matcha with a heavy stone mill. Yes, it's heavy but it's fun!
It just takes about less 10 mins long, you can have fresh match.
As I learned Japanese tea ceremony (manner) when I was a student, it was quite easily to handle it.
However, whether you have experience or not for Japanese tea, you can enjoy making match.
If you would like to visit there, it's easy to access from Nagoya by train or car.
